Ruth Bates is a painter who captures the essence of nature by examining the effects of light on form in the natural world. Her paintings, vibrant and colorful abstractions of landscapes, seascapes, still life, and figure, are alive with color and are intended to produce happiness for the viewer.

Ruth holds a BA in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Business, and her Broker’s License. She worked for 20+years in high-tech and then moved to Aptos, California and became a Realtor and Broker. For the past 20 years Ruth has combined her love of Real Estate and her love of Painting to live a full and productive “Gemini” life in Aptos. She is currently designing and building her dream retirement home in the Aptos Hills. Ruth continues to enjoy learning and exploring in the world of painting.
